Jason Smith

I am a core contributor to gnome-do. I am responsible largely for maintenance of the user interfaces, creating and managing plugins, and dealing with Do's user interaction model. Most of the changes to how Do responds to the user, such as implementing text mode, or porting to mono.addins, happens through me. You can find me on IRC as DBO.

Plugins/Components I Have Worked On

  • User interaction class (Controller) re-write
  • Symbol Window interactions
  • Improving and re-writing a lot of our custom widgetry
  • KDE and eeePC ui's
  • Text mode
  • Tray Icon / Notification bridge (along with lamalex)
  • Riptide (torrent plugin)
  • Shelf (storage plugin)
  • Window Manager

What I Am Working On

  • Improvements to Window Manager (better matching)
  • Splitting UI's into plugins
  • Special key to allow multiple item selection
  • Merging UI widgets
  • Fixing threading issues that cause crashes

Found a Bug?

If you have found a bug in any of the following items, please mark it as mine in our bugtracker.

  • Issues relating to keystroke events (like entering text mode or simply searching in Do).
  • Issues with UI not showing up correctly
  • Issues with any of my plugins
  • Anything you just cant figure out what is causing the issue
  • Crashes that happen while do is shown on screen
  • Issues getting plugins to install properly

Do things as quickly as possible (but no quicker) with your files, applications, contacts and more!
