The Google Calendar plugin for Do allows you to search, create, and browse events in your Google calendar. This plugin is part of the GNOME Do official repo. The code is hosted in Launchpad.
Setup: Open Do's preferences window by clicking the upside-down triangle. Navigate to the Plugins tab, select Google Calendar, and click Configure. Enter your username (including @gmail.com) and your password, after your account validates, you may close the window, and you are now ready to use Google Calendar with Do.
Creating a new event: Launch Do, and begin typing New Event as the action you'd like to perform. Once this action has been selected, hit TAB to switch panels. Do will bring up a list of your calendars for you to select from. Chose the appropriate calendar and hit TAB again. In the third panel use the Google Quick add syntax to create a new event in your calendar. The New Google Calendar Event action also supports creating a new event through the paste buffer. To use this feature, select the text you would like to submit as a new event, launch Do, and do as you would to create a new event. In the third panel however; chose Selected Text as your source, rather than raw input.
Searching Events: Launch Do and begin typing Search Events as the action you'd like to perform. Once this action has been selected, hit TAB to switch panels and chose the calendar you would like to search through. Hit TAB to enter the third panel type the text you'd like to search for. This action also supports input from paste buffer, just like creating.
Note: We don't yet support searching all calendars, we're waiting for the GData api to support this.
Event Browsing: The Google Calendar plugin also indexes your events. Launch Do and begin typing the name of one of your calendars, or Google Calendars. Do will bring up your calendar and allow you to arrow into a list of that calendar's events for the next month.
