Overview

The Dropbox plugin allows you to start & stop Dropbox, add files/folders to Dropbox, share files using your Public folder, get public & private URLs of your Dropbox contents and view revisions of a file online.

All just a few keystrokes away with Do!

Setup

First, if you don't have Dropbox you can download it from http://www.getdropbox.com

Next open Do's preferences dialog, select Community Plugins from the dropdown, and tick the Dropbox entry. If you installed Dropbox with a non-standard folder location (anywhere other than ~/Dropbox), you can tell the plugin about this in the Configure dialog.

It is also highly recommended that you enable the File Plugin, doing so will greatly enhance the range of Dropbox actions you can perform. Once enabled, you should also configure it to index your Dropbox folder.

Usage

Start / Stop

The Start and Stop actions do just that - start and stop the Dropbox daemon. They are aware of whether Dropbox is running or not, so you'll only be offered the appropriate one.

To use them, simply type Dropbox and select the Dropbox application item, then press tab to see the actions.

Add to Dropbox...

Use this action to add a file or folder to Dropbox. The target is actually symlinked to your Dropbox folder, so you don't have to worry about things being moved around unnecessarily. You can optionally select a sub-folder in your Dropbox home to put the target into.

To use simply select a file in Do, press tab and select the "Add to Dropbox..." action. Optionally press tab to choose a location within your Dropbox

Share with Dropbox / Stop sharing

The "Share with Dropbox" action is similar to "Add to Dropbox...", except you can only share files, not folders. These are symlinked to your Public Dropbox folder and the public URL is returned to you. If a file is already being shared, Do will offer the "Stop sharing with Dropbox" action.

To use, select a file using Do, press tab and select "Share with Dropbox". After a moment, Do will come back with the public URL for the share file, which you can open, tweet, blog, etc.

View Revisions

The "View revisions" action shows the revision history of a file in the Dropbox web site.

To use, just choose a file in your Dropbox using Do, then press tab and choose "View revisions".

Get public URL

This action returns the URL of a file within your Public folder, or one that you have shared using the "Share with Dropbox" action.

Simply choose a file in Do, press tab and select "Get public URL".

Do will then return the URL

Dropbox web interface

To use, just choose a folder within your Dropbox using Do, press tab and select "Dropbox web interface".
