David Siegel is the principal author and maintainer of Do. For his Computer Science senior design project at the University of Pennsylvania, David wrote the design document, designed the search and plugin architectures, and started a free software project around the program. David also wrote the initial plugin set, which includes Firefox, Evolution, Files and Folders, Applications, Rhythmbox, Pidgin, Epiphany, and Terminal plugins, along with other fundamental plugin components.
Since graduating in 2008, David has been trying to keep the project afloat as it grows and gains many new users and features. This includes beginning to organize a port of Do for Windows, and encouraging other student developers to take active roles in shaping the future of the project.
David is now an engineer at Idealab in Pasadena, California.
